Southampton Science and Engineering Festival 2023
The University of Southampton’s annual Science and Engineering Day took place on Saturday 18th March 2023, 10:30 – 16:30, at Highfield Campus and Boldrewood Innovation Campus.
As one of Julian’s first activities as the new Programme Leader for the BSc. Creative Computing Course, he led a workshop/demo style drop in room under the theme of “Creative Coding the World”. This included a demo for the first time of the new TeleAgriCulture data collection kit, along with a new design for an at home aquaponics setup, and artworks made using the weather data and creative coding. There was also a series of interactive workshops for all ages using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, various other electronics, and creative coding platforms with the theme of playful computing about nature, reality, climate change and using data for good.
