We have arrived at the beautiful location of Cultivamos Cultura to begin the first phase design residency. Juliana and Jan met with forest artist Alan Tod who has also been in residence. He works with recreating forests and developing playful strategies to engage people into helping him grow forests. For example, around the property are a number of flowers but they aren’t there just to be beautiful. They are planted where there are baby oak trees growing and are to trick people into watering so the trees can grow bigger.
It was the first time in three months Alan had seen other people, so dinner was a funny and eclectic night full of fast-paced discourse! A lot of fun, wine, and pasta was shared.
